Maryland Honey & Pure Beeswax Candles
Family-operated apiary located near Peachblossom Creek in Talbot County, Maryland, with hives in Easton, Oxford and Trappe. Offering raw Eastern Shore wildflower honey and honeycomb, hand-poured pure beeswax candles, and unique honey jars and gifts.
Our adventure with bees began with the discovery of a honey bee swarm on a warm spring day in 2013. We now have three generations keeping bees.
This outgrowth of our hobby was inspired by our children's comments while using bees and hive expansion concepts to reinforce solving math word problems. They realized that the math problems were "like business" and expressed an interest in "having a bee business". Several years and kids' life lessons later, we manage 30-40 hives and have a website, registered trademark, and much appreciated and very supportive customers, both locally and throughout the country. Our children actively participate in inspection and management of the hives, assembly and painting of equipment, harvesting and bottling of honey, and take the lead on pouring and crafting our beeswax candles.
